Practical Matters: Link to Learning about 504 Plans

Posted on September 25, 2014, by GAPMP

Just hazarding a guess here, but I would imagine at least 50 percent of our parent mentors get asked the question at least once… “What is a 504 plan?”

Anne Ladd, Family Engagement Specialist for the Georgia Department of Education’s  Division for Special Education Services and Supports found a video on the National Learning Center for Disabilities website.

Scroll down to click on the “ncld 504 Video” link.

That site also offers a comparison chart to help parents understand the difference between an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and a 504.
