This duo of Henry County Parent Mentors have been busy working on, creating, and building our Parent Resource Center (PRC) that is currently scheduled to open August 19th, 2022. The PRC is a centrally located resource center for Henry County ESE families and students to access both physical and community resource information.
The brand new Parent Resource Center will have various types of adaptive equipment, educational toys, developmental tools, a lending library, while also being a center to hold workshops with families and educators.
We will have a variety of resources available for parents to come in and use as well as some to check out and take to use with their children. Some of these items include things like adaptive tricycles, brailler machine, an interactive library with numerous educational and informative books loaded onto e-readers for families to check out.
This center will allow us to hold workshops with families to create some much needed resources that the children have available in schools, and be able to create and modify them for use at home as well.
We are truly excited to have been able to really create this type of resource, based on the needs that we have seen, to be available for our families.
