Our Georgia Parent Mentor Partnership’s dynamic leadership duo, Tracy Barber Jones and Anne Ladd, representing the Georgia Department of Education’s Department of Special Education Services and Supports, will be attending the 2024 National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference hosted by the Institute for Education Leadership on May 29-31, 2024 in Atlanta.
Sharing information and resources about family engagement initiatives around the state is an integral part of what Jones and Ladd do in their roles with the Dept. of Education. “We will be gathering information and searching for new knowledge to share information to bring to the GaPMP,” Ladd said.
On June 4, 2024 Effingham County Parent Mentor Amy Ambrose and Anne Ladd will be presenting at the Babies Can’t Wait Conference. “We are going to be talking about ways to make that transition from IFSP to IEPs,” said Ladd.
June 11-13, 2024 Anne Ladd will be talking about Family Engagement at the Federal Programs Conference.
Teachers, school leaders, and district personnel will engage in interactive sessions that provide resources, strategies, and best practices to improve outcomes for Georgia’s students. In addition, participants will receive information to assist with plans for coordinating federal funds in FY25, supporting federally-identified schools, and leading strong instructional practices in the 2024-25 school year. Local Educational Agency (LEA) participants should include representatives working with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) grants, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) grants, and selected school and district-level instructional personnel.
