This presentation will explore IDEA’s transfer of rights provision and compare and contrast some decision-making options for students with disabilities who reach the age of majority.

Jamila Pollard

Jamila C. Pollard, Esq. is the senior program manager /legal officer for the Dispute Resolution Unit in the Division for Special Education Services and Supports at the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). Jamila oversees the GaDOE dispute resolution processes of mediation, formal written complaints, and due process hearing requests. Prior to joining the GaDOE, Jamila was a staff attorney with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and a middle grades mathematics and language arts teacher in Georgia.
